Spinnaker Usage:

Any boat in a given class (i.e., Cruising, Sonar) may compete in its class using a Spinnaker provided the boat declares the use of the Spinnaker before the race starts, e.g., when checking in for the race via VHF.

The declaration cannot be changed once the race has started.

A boat that declares Spinnaker:

• Must start at its assigned Spinnaker Start Time in a Pursuit Start Race

Or

• Will be scored using its Spinnaker rating in a Gang (i.e., not a Pursuit) Start race whether she actually flies her Spinnaker or not.
